. . . meanwhile back at the ranch

So we are viewing Spring Fabrics and gearing up to start showing sneak peeks of our new Spring 2012 line. It is going to be great! But. . . in the mean time a little free time to sew for our own families (and even clean our sewing and craft rooms).

Now's the time to look for holiday/winter flannel sheets to be marked WAY down. . . buy them and put them away for next Fall/Winter. This is a set I bought last year with the intent of making a full family matching set of pajama pants. The twin set made 1 pr 3T, 1 pr size 6, 1 pr ladies size large and one men's pair of boxers. . . not bad for a clearanced set of warm sheets :)

Artist of the Month

I was so busy I missed October, but never fear! November has an artist of the month!

PAULA MOSELEY (in her own words)

I have always loved to craft. Some of my earliest school memories are of hating math and loving the crayon box! I experimented with a few crafts while growing up: knitting, crocheting, decoupage, foiling (those of you who grew up in the 60's and 70's may remember foiling. . . as I recall, my creations were. . . um. . . pretty hideous!). I took an art class in high school, but was less than encouraged by my efforts. I was striving for all A's in school and was quite disappointed with my B in art. Yet, you just can't give up something you love.
When my daughter was born, I was a full time Mom for a while and I looked for a creative outlet. I took a three-session decorative painting class. I loved it! That class reaffirmed the fact that I love to be creative. From that point on, I always had painting and crafting supplies in my home and would much prefer crafting over cooking or cleaning! My husband refers to my crafting supplies as my "toys" and now I have a room upstairs with a nook as my "playroom". I love many types of crafts, including paper making, paper casting, card making, floral design, ribbon work and stenciling. However, painting is my favorite creative outlet. When I paint, I lose all track of time, and I love the colors and the way they change with each stroke. I guess you could say that my paints are my grown-up version of the crayon box. I'm still not fond of math!
I'm sure you'll be as impressed with Paula's work as we all are. We're so glad to have her as part of the team!
